A lovely man who had time for everyone, a great loss.
Sadly missed.

Belated condolences. When I think of Jack I feel like a probationary cop again....he was a father figure to many of us. My memories are of his warm smile and hearty laugh.

There is not much we miss about the U.K., but some of the people who remain there are often in our thoughts and conversations. Jack, you were one who always brought a smile with your memory and we looked forward to your threatened motorcycle ride through N.Z., to give us some updated chuckles and anecdotes.

Nevertheless, we will continue to recall your irascible character and Northern Bloke ways which drew people to you wherever you were, and no doubt continues to do so wherever you are.

I remember all the times you passed thru the front desk at Rochale PS on you way to your office, shouting something outrageous on the way and leaving us to pick up the pieces. Jack, my memories are all of your wit, mischief and humanity. God Bless.
