Jack,

You will be sadly missed in our family. We always thought of you as one of us. We have shared many happy moments together, and yes, as much as I hated hearing about the \'jaffa cake stakes\' I am going to miss your weekly update. We are all going to miss going down for a chinese at Mrs. Chans\' after a few drinks at the white bull, then going back to your cosy cottage. I\'m glad that I met you and you will always be remembered. Mum has put the photo of you on the coffee table, so we can always see your happy, smiling face now.

Lots of love, Beth xx

On a Romanian convoy we were held up at the Hungarian Border. The officials said we missed a signature on a form throwing the paper on the floor . Telling the team Jack said \" no problem , come to our truck \" He produced a rubber stamp and stamped and signed the form . The official accepted the form no probs . Looking at the form Jack had signed Superintendent R. Sole !
This became Jack\'s second name. A giant of a man , much loved and much missed.

Big Lad. I kept promising to see you & thank you personally for your kindness during my dark days. On Monday, I will stand at Hillsborough Lake, think of you & once again reflect on your words.
