So sorry to hear this news, I first met Jack when he was a PC at Bury and I was in the Cadets in 1974. What a barrel of laughs he was, later Jack moved over to the P Div on promotion where he spent many years entertaining us all by tormenting the canteen staff and many others. Jack really was an inspiration to many. I also enjoyed the social side with Jack as you new exactly what sort of night you would have.I always remember him recounting the tales of his troublesome neighbour at Love clough. My condolences go out to his family. Jack Atherton Worthy Mason he.

Jack, we shared many long hours together in TAG at Heywood (1977-1981). The combe and paper band will live on. It was a privilege, a pleasure and a great laugh to serve with you.

Much has already been said about this man, with a big heart and almost as big a smile. Always a friend, always the one to step forward with a helping hand and a word of encouragement. Im proud to have known you and sad that we will no longer share the same world, which will be a lesser place without you. Rest in peace my friend.
